The Skandia Docklands Invitational will combine world class yacht racing with a wide range of shore based activities and a host of social events.

The 'invitation only' event will see some of Australia's best yachts gather at Waterfront City for a five race series. The invited fleet is expected to include some of the best performed IRC yachts from Australia and beyond, with a vast majority making their return from the Rolex Sydney to Hobart.

The series will be organised by Royal Geelong Yacht Club as part of an expanded Skandia Geelong Week. This historic sporting event includes 110 races and is Victoria's oldest sporting event.

Skandia Geelong Week attracts in excess of 400 yachts, approx 4500 sailors and an estimated 100,000 visitors. For more information on Skandia Geelong Week please visit www.geelongweek.com

Australian Sailing Team named ‘King of the Docklands’

The sun was out briefly today for a Super Sunday of sailing for day two of Skandia Docklands Invitational. While the ocean racing yachts raced out on Port Philip, twenty teams of elite sailors also gathered to race in super-slick one-design sports boats as part of the Vectrix SB3 King of the Docklands event. An impressive first prize, a Vectrix High Performance electric maxi-scooter, provided good incentive for some great competition on the water.

Beau Geste wins Skandia Docklands Invitational

Hong Kong’s leading yachtsman Karl Kwok loves to race in Australia and today the 1997 Sydney to Hobart winner added the prestigious Skandia Docklands Invitational title to a string of yachting achievements with Beau Geste, his ninth yacht named after the famous French term.
